This episode features guest Eddie Money. Here's highlights from the original 90 minute broadcast. Once again we're backstage at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco for Eddie's sellout show supporting his latest album. He was riding high (no pun intended) in 1984 with hits including Shakin', and was, as always- a funny guy and a terrific interview.
I've interviewed Eddie and had him my radio shows at least 20 times over the years, he was one of the first to come up to KRQR on a fairly regular basis during my night-time show, bringing test recordings from upcoming albums to see how the audience liked them, and promoting up and coming bands who were writing material for him- like Randy Oda (who wrote "I think I'm in Love"). He was also one of the first to sign up to be a guest on my TV series, He was always cool with his fans, and at this show we did a backstage fan party so his biggest fans could meet him. Eddie always had a down to earth ego, and a "regular guy" attitude off air. But on-air, he always had something funny to say, and used self-depracating humor to show people he was just an east coast guy who liked to party and perform. Over the years, I saw Eddie do plenty of both!
Today, Eddie Money still performs and tours, and continues to satisy his fans by playing all of his hits at every concert. For more on Eddie Moey today, visit hiswebsite at: http://eddiemoney.com/
