"I've collected these shows over the years, and have finally gotten around to restoring some of them for the vault. Some moments were just having fun doing radio- others were moments I will always remember- Like interviewing Grace Slick, George Burns, the Beatles Hour- rock stars, celebrities, Launching radio stations, new formats, and covering national events live on-air as they happened. John lennon's death, being on the air at KSFO when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit, simulcasting my TV series on radio and TV and once, getting a 16 share in the ratings! It's all a blur- but these airchecks and videos flash me right back to the 80s and 90s. Hope you enjoy looking through the vault."

If you're a Beatle fan, make sure to visit the "Beatles Hour" part of the vault under "archieves". There's plenty more clips like this one being posted there. Back in the early 80s, I hosted this series for CBS radio. From the photo you can see how long ago it really was! That's me, with my wife Denise, and The Beatles First Drummer Pete Best. This clip is part of a 2 hour special I did on the Beatles early years. In this clip Pete tells about being dropped from the Beatles.
Back in about 2002, Little Steven came to our CBS studios in Sacramento, and we became late night, pizza eating, 60s anecdote hurling buddies. It was initially just to record voice tracks for his radio show, but we hit it off, and soon his show was on the air with us, and I was calling his cell once every couple weeks to talk on the air. At the time, he was doing the word tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E street Band. An iconic character, and contributer to the classic sound of the band, onstage Steven continues to be a great guitarist and integral member of the band. Offstage, he's a garage rock band nut, who loves to talk all day about the old days of rock n roll!
Here's an intrerview from that period.
Van Halen. 80s Bad Boys. No matter who you talked to, there was always something going on with this band. Just as they were launching their ill fated tour with lead singer #3...(anyone remember who?), I talked to David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen during my TV series (see San Francisco Hot Rock for Video). In this aircheck, Micheal Anthony, bassist for the band talks about changing singers, Sammy, and David Lee Roth. Late 90s aircheck from Bay area station, 101.7 The Fox.
